ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A driver, now identified as an Asheville firefighter, shot a bicycle rider because he was angry the man was riding with his child on a busy road, Asheville police said.
The shooting happened Sunday morning on Tunnel Road.Officers said the victim was riding with his wife and had his 3-year-old son in a child seat attached to his bicycle when a driver approached him.Police said the driver, Charles Diez, claimed he was upset that the victim was bike riding with his child on the heavily traveled Tunnel Road.Diez pulled a gun and opened fire, hitting the victim in his bicycle helmet, according to police.They said the bullet penetrated the outer lining of the helmet but did not actually hit the victim’s head.Police arrested Diez and charged him with attempted first degree murder.His bond was set at $500,000.Diez has been a firefighter with the Asheville Fire Department since 1992, according to officials.On Monday, they confirmed he has been placed on paid investigative leave pending the outcome of this investigation.

You have to be kidding me. This guy thinks it’s not safe for a man to ride with his kid in a child seat on a bicycle. So he shoots him in the head? You know, obviously shooting someone in the head is much more safe than driving by without shooting them in the head. Ill keep that in mind next time say I’m walking down some stairs behind someone walking slowly, I’ll give them a shove so that they can get down the stairs faster, that ought to be helpful, or maybe if i see an older man walking with a cane, ill grab it from him and proceed to beat him senseless with it. Yes, it never hurts to help another person be safe.

Swedish man attacked by tattooed girl gang

Police in central Sweden are on the hunt for a gang of tattooed women who sexually molested a 50-year-old man as he was riding by on his bicycle.

The incident took place around 9pm on July 8th as the man was cycling down Vintergatan in central Örebro, the Aftonbladet newspaper reports.
Suddenly, someone grabbed hold of the rack on the back of the man’s bike, causing him to fall to the ground.
“The girls ran up to him and pulled the bicycle down so he fell,” Örebro police spokesperson Annika Haaster told the newspaper.
As the man was lying defenceless on the ground, the women proceeded to pull off his trousers and underwear and molest him sexually before fleeing the scene.
According to police, the 50-year-old was not otherwise beaten or physically assaulted by the gang of five girls.
The victim told police that the girl who actually pulled down the bicycle was about 175 centimetres (5 feet, 7 inches) tall and had tattoos on her forearms.
Authorities are hoping that tips from the public can help them apprehend the suspects responsible for the bizarre attack.
“It’s downright unusual for five girls [to do something like this]. Perhaps there are others who’ve had the same thing happen to them,” Haaster told Aftonbladet

Just to be clear, they were both riding FIXED GEAR BIKES, yes lets repeat that just so there are no misunderstandings here FIXED GEAR BIKES. Yes at least you didn’t spend a lot of money on your FIXED GEAR BIKE, but I’m sure you did on your chrome messenger bag or jeans from urban outfitters, so it all evens out in the end. In the meantime I’m sure i flew by these two on their FIXED GEAR BIKES at probably 15 mph faster on my 60 mile commute yesterday. But at least they were on FIXED GEAR BIKES. And coincidentally urban outfitters is now selling FIXED GEAR BIKES. I like where this is going. The bikes are made by the republic bike company, and are complete rubbish, not surprising considering urban outfitters is selling them. I read several reviews of the product and it sounds like one of those dreams you have where you are riding a bike and it starts falling apart beneath you…or maybe thats just me. The bikes are customizable, a hipsters wet dream, and are made from the oh so quality “hi tensile steel” which translates to UTTER CRAP. You would be better off framebuilding with natural gas black iron pipe, and it’s painted yellow already so BAM customized! Enjoy riding your worthless FIXED GEAR BIKES together you shitting hipsters.
